1. About BLease

BLease is a student-run sublease marketplace built exclusively for UC Berkeley students. BLease is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the University of California, Berkeley.

2. Eligibility

BLease is intended for UC Berkeley students. By signing up with a @berkeley.edu email, you confirm you are a current or recent UC Berkeley student.

3. We Are a Marketplace, Not a Landlord

BLease provides a platform for students to connect about subleases. We are not a party to any rental agreement, sublease contract, or housing transaction between users. Any agreement made between a poster and a renter is solely between those two parties.

4. No Verification of Listings

We do not verify the accuracy, legality, or legitimacy of any listing posted on BLease. You are responsible for independently verifying any listing before making payments or signing agreements. Always meet in person, verify the unit exists, and never send money to someone you haven't met.

5. Your Responsibilities

• You agree not to post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings.
• You agree not to harass or abuse other users through our messaging system.
• You are responsible for any content you post on BLease.

6. We Can Remove Content

We reserve the right to remove any listing or account that we believe violates these terms or harms other users, at our sole discretion.

7. No Warranties

BLease is provided as-is. We make no guarantees about the availability, accuracy, or safety of listings on the platform.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BLease and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, including disputes between users, fraudulent listings, or failed housing arrangements.
